Forum on the role of Parliament in the promotion and protection of human rights Print E-mail
This discussion forum was the first workshop under a project being run jointly by the Parliament of Zimbabwe and SAHRIT to develop the capacity of members of Parliament in the area of domestication, promotion and monitoring of International Agreements, treaties, protocols, conventions and human rights. The workshop was held in Bvumba from the 1st to the 3rd of June and  was attended by chairpersons of portfolio committees, members of the Parliamentary Legal Committee (PLC) and members from the Clerk of Parliament’s office. It was officially opened by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Kumbirai Kangai who was in attendance for the duration of the proceedings.
